Bow it up!

In Jason Wu's Spring 2011 was one of my favorite collections for the spring. I would love to walk on that runway. One of the great things about his collection was his bows. He only had a couple of outfits with bows, but the bows he showed were really great. This model's outfit to the right couldn't go any better with her bow (and be bigger).

A small neutral bow bracelet could go with a lot, including a classic white shirt or a new spring shirt.

Don't forget about dresses! This tube dress looks gorgeous with black pumps and some bracelets. You could also wear it with black tights for colder weather (like today for me).The lace makes this dress an able to wear for spring and the end of winter.

What Goes on in London

On the night of the Grammy's, London was having their BAFTA Awards. I really wish I knew most of these people, but I don't. Maybe you guys have heard of them.

Noomi Rapace, I love her dress sooo much! She looks so gorgeous in it.

This is Thandie Newton, wearing a very pink dress! It fits her so well.

I know him, he's in Mama Mia!, here is Dominic Cooper.Jessica Alba in this stunning blue gown.

Emma Watson, the one we're so obsessed with! Such a pretty silhouette, although I do wish it was a bolder color.

One for One

Toms is an amazing shoe company that donates shoes to children in South America, Africa, Afghanistan, Haiti, US, China, Cambodia, and Armenia. Every one you buy they give one pair of Toms to a child in need.

Most children in these countries grow up without shoes; the leading cause of death is these countries come from soil-transmitted diseases which came easily be prevented by wearing shoes. But these kids don't have any, this is why Blake Mycoski created Toms. Their first shoe drop was to a couple villages in Argentina in 2006, but now they've grown. They recognized many other countries whose children are in need of shoes and they've teamed up with humanitarians and health organizations across the globe.

States of Dresses

Robin Barcus Slonina created her first dress sculpture in 1999. This one is made out of 28 red dresses she got from thrift stores in Chicago. So pretty.

This is Las Vegas' casino poker chip dress. She had to drill holes through 200 poker chips and arrange them in a pattern then string them together. This is such a cool picture, and it was actually taken in the desert!

This is the prairie dress, it blends in so well! Robin had to weave in new, fresh blades of grass after they transported to dress to the site. This would be so complicated!

Here is New York City's trash bag dress, why is NYC known for its trash?

Her pine tree dress. All I can say is that this would be so uncomfortable wear. But it is a really cool picture.

The Iowa dress is so cool, just like the rest of these. All of the pictures are amazing! Robin is so dedicated to this project because I would certainly have a hard time doing this.

Original

You know what I love: when people are totally original with the way they dress. When they don't care what anyone else thinks of them, when all they care about is that they love the way they feel in their own skin. Some of them are inspired by other people they see on the streets; when ever I see someone who is wearing a bright, bold, colorful jacket or skirt, it always inspires me to wear my heeled ankle boots. I love them but I'm a little intimidated by them.

This is sort of what they look like, execpt that they are more scrunchy, shorter and a lighter brown, but mostly the same.

Originality is one of the reasons I love to read other blogs, they are out there to share the unique sense of style that they have (also why we started ours).

I actually bought these grey shorts, but I have no idea what they will look like because I ordered them (gift card and the store doesn't sell their clearence items at the one near us). It was a really spontaneous buy for me, I have never owned a pair of shorts, or any kind of pants, that are high-waisted like these. But I've been trying to be a little more original with my outfits than ever.

So, come on, join the 'club'!

Grammy's

Sara Bareilles looks beautiful in this classic red dress, bringing out the shine in her gloss. Her up do couldn't look any better also.

Katy Perry's dress looked like it was about to fly away with her. Hidden under the beautiful dress is Jimmy Choo heels and holding her clutch was peachy-nude nails. Nicolas Jebran dress I was not a fan of at all, but I liked her classic long locks.

It was no surprise that Katy Perry would wear a dress like this one to the Grammy's.

The paramore men looked well dressed up in their suits with striped shirts underneath. Haley looked good in her signature locks, but her poof was too much for my tastes.

Natasha Bedingfield's dress had some pretty flowers at the bottom that I liked. I didn't like the top as I thought it was a little to blue, but maybe it is just the angle of the camera.

Martina Micbride's dress flattered her every curve. Her legs looked great and the jewelry wasn't too much to overpower; instead, it went very well together.

Kristin Chenoweth looked stunning in her shiny (but not to shiny) dress. Her dress wasn't too short and I adored her curls.

Jennifer Lopez's legs looks miles high in this cute (should be called) shirt dress. Her bedazzlement was everywhere, but it was a good bedazzlement. Don't forget that model stare!

Jennifer Hudson and Usher together. Usher -- as always -- with some shades, and Jennifer beautiful black lace dress. The light pink behind the lace is really pretty for her.

Lady Gaga: I shouldn't even mention in the egg/rock. Would you consider that an outfit? I call that too much of an entry.

Gloria Goyo Martinez lace is really pretty; what I just noticed though is that her bracelet has spikes. That doesn't work at all! I would take those earrings any day, but I think they would look better on her than me.

Cathy and David Guetta should have done something more their age, because I think that their clothes were t0o young for them. Not to shame Cathy's dress as I would love to borrow the Bambi dress for a day (at least).

Springy Step

I'd never wear the first pair, but I thought they were really cool and springy, and those are real flowers!

This second pair is really cute, and you could wear with a lot!

The third pair I like because unlike the first two pairs, your average clumsy can wear them. Their cute, and simple, but with a little twist, and you can wear these wherever, whenever! They also don't make us tall people five inches higher!

I've always wanted a pair of rain boots, and there are sooo many out there to choose from! You can wear them any day, or have fun singing in the rain!

These pairs of shoes, are obviously sandals. Every girl needs a pair of sandals! There perfect for a walks, riverboat rides, or trips downtown, where you want to be stylish, but not kill your feet!
You can find some really cute ones, but other ones (like the bottom left) you probably don't want to wear! (it looks like some kind of wiring from the bathroom light fixture)

Spring Shirts, but Still Love Winter the Best!

I personally LOVE winter a really lot! A really really really lot. Like, more than Justin Beiber. And running with scissors. And little gingerbread cookies with sprinkles. Now I'm going bipolar and switching gears. I love this shirt (to the left), because you can wear a lot with it, but it also has a little spring to it's step! It also looks great in white and light blue, and with knee-length jeans and sandals. The dress I also love (to the right), because I think they did a nice job pairing the colors and layers. It also comes in a light blue, but I like the peach best.

Bring out the stripes

A hot trend this summer as you have probably have hear is stripes. Now, I am going to lay down the rules with stripes that I mean horizontal stripes NOT vertical as that does not flatter anyone. Also do not buy fitted striped shirts as they will stretch and make you look fat, even if you are as skinny as a rail.

The first shirt I fell in love with right away. It can keep you warm on the colder days of spring, and also light enough to wear during summer. This tee can be paired with jean shorts or a long tank top underneath and leggings.
This tee looks great with the oversize brown bow shorts. This outfit is perfect for a lazy day in the spring and summer. I actually like the shorts more than the shirt! Don't get me wrong I still love the shirt.

This over sized striped shirt looks terrific with the red bow in the middle. It is a big bow, but doesn't overtake the stripes and isn't to bright.

GILT

Gilt is a great online store for a girl looking for amazing brand names for a fantastic discount. Gilt is still expensive, but they discount things incredibly. The sales end pretty quickly because they have limited stock, so grab your goodies quickly! They do a great job about contacting you about shipping via email, so don't worry about your items while they are shipping. The boxes your clothes come in are so cool, you will want to buy clothes just for the boxes. Or just for the clothes!
