Unwearable Fashion

This is a sort of cool poncho, what makes it even cooler is that the model wearing it is smiling. Look at the model grin on her face that improves the whole outfit! Love to the heels, but how did she get those ten foot legs. Oh right, she's a model. The only problem with this outfit is that no one would actually wear it in real life. Runways are just like algebra, no one uses the stuff in real life.

Dress: I found something like that in my grandma's bag that made it's way to Goodwill Hat: Looks like a UFO Shoes: Love them!

I would only wear parts of this outfit, and other parts I would use to as test fabric to see if my sewing machine could handle the uglieness.

Women of the 50's and 60's

In school this week we had to do a presentation about anything that happened in the '50s and '60s. Naturally, I did a presentation on fashion and then changed it to fashion trend setters of the '50s and '60s.

The first woman: Audrey Hepburn. Audrey was an iconic Academy Award-winning actress, fashion model and humanitarian. With her boyish body, pixie haircut and swan neck she complemented everything she wore.

A talented performer, Audrey Hepburn was known for her beauty, elegance, and grace. She remains one of Hollywood's greatest style icons.

I did Coco Chanel even though she was before that time I still made it count. In 1954 her comeback restored her to the first ranks of haute couture. Her natural, casual clothing including the Chanel suit and purses once again caught the eye of women.

Jackie Kennedy was American royalty, charming the world during the early '60s as the young, glamorous, dignified, style-setting wife of President John F. Kennedy.

She didn't wear her jewelry every day, only when the occasion really called for it. She was known for her Black turtlenecks, Jack Rogers sandals, and big oversized sunglasses.

In the mid '60s at 16, Twiggy became internationally known as the world's first supermodel, her photographic modeling success amazed everyone. Twiggy became the idol for millions of teenage girls of the sixties revolution.

By the age of 17, Twiggy was one of the most famous faces on the planet. With her skinny figure, boyish haircut and striking eyelashes, she would be the figure of the '60s.

Men of the 50's and 60's

Pierre Cardin along with Courreges, was known for his "space age" styling. Born in Italy but relocated to Paris, he was also famous for hoop dresses, asymmetrical styles and collarless jackets for men.










In 1967 Ralph started a tie store, which grew to a now thriving Ralph Lauren clothes company.





Because of the immense popularity of the Beatles, there haircut was widely imitated worldwide between 1964 and 1966. Mikhail Safonov wrote in 2003 that in the Brezhnev-dominated Soviet Union, mimicking the Beatles hairstyle was seen as extremely rebellious. Young people were called "hairies" by their elders, and some were arrested and forced to have their hair cut in police stations.




In the early Beatle years, the Beatles would occasionally wear black, and then later grey, Edwardian collarless suits. This style of suit was adopted from the Mod youth cult, then at its peak in the UK. These suits became extremely common for new bands to wear after 1964.




James Dean was an actor who showed the restless spirit of American youth in the 1950s and quickly became a fashion icon. He wore the T-shirt and jeans that would become fashion icons for young people.

The Runway

Today, I discovered that the runway exaggerates the newest trends, they aren't saying,"Hey, people of the earth, this is what you should were all the time." So that's why there are women strutting down the catwalk in so many vintage clothes that you'ld think they were playing dress up in grandma's closet with the clothes she'd wore when she was fifteen just before they were shoved into the lime light of the runway during Fashion Week.

Runway shows are mostly to show off the designers latest trend and to give others inspiration to create a new trend. Because I've certainly never seen anything like these. ---> ---> ---> ---> --->

Homecoming!

It's homecoming season! You all know what that means, awesome dresses and tuxes for the dudes! I love homecoming season because of all of the awesome dresses, they have so many colors, textures, styles, and fabrics. Tuxes, however, aren't as unique, but they are classy and simple (simple is stylish). Have fun, prom-goers (is that a word?).

Fashion Icons

Hi, I've got this sudden obession with fashion icons, Twiggy specifically, ever since I had to do a project on them. Twiggiy has been one of the top super models of the century since 1950, when she was 'discovered'.

With her tiny frame and chisled features, she catwalked her way into becoming one of the most popular models that of her decade.

Even in her 50's, she is still a stunning beauty.

Most of the male fashion icons like the "Rebel Without a Cause" look. This look features the leather jacket, jean and tee-shirt. Films that have inspired this look were "Wild One" starring James Dean and another starring Marlon Brando called none other than "Rebel Without a Cause".

Shirts

I love shirts! There are so many neat and cool shirts, you just never know which ones to pick! There are funny shirts, sad shirts, colorful shirts, plain shirts, long sleeve shirts, etc. I personally like the funny ones. You could walk through a grocery store and just start laughing at somebody's shirt. Shirts also say a lot about you, like what mood your in. If you're in sweats, you're either in a comfy mood, or an active mood. If your wearing a dark shirt, you are in a dark mood, or a colorful shirt if you are happy. If your all comedy one day, why not wear a funny shirt? There's definitely plenty of them! So take advantage of your shirts.

Athletic clothes

How to be cute and stylish when your running or anything else active.

Inner peace cannot be achieved with baggy sweatshirts and old sweatpants. Workout clothes should fit as well as anything else!If they are faded, replace them! You deserve to look good in the workout your trying hard to do.

It's exclusive, don't you want to go out and buy it?
You can also do a zippered hoodie, but make sure it is fitted so that it looks sleek and not sloppy and frumpy.
The old t-shirt works fine too as long as you use it only when you exercising or cleaning the house.

These kind of shoes are a must have for a runner, but remember after about 300-500 miles is when you need to get new shoes.

We no longer have to wear a watch for practical reasons. Watches have become pure fashion statements. But when you're out on a run, a watch wouldn't hurt.

Even when you're working out you need an accessory. A bag is perfect with a color that pops.

Swimsuits

Swimsuits come in all shapes, sizes, colors and styles. So find your match. Yeah, I feel like a dating advertisement!
Two pieces are awesome because you can mix and match them.


Tankini you can be more active in without you having to worry about anything bad happening!


Stripes thin out the body.
While a one piece is elegant and withstands alot.



Frill adds to what isn't there! If you know what I mean.

Shoes

Shoes-an external covering for the human foot, usually of leather and consisting of a more or less stiff or heavy sole and a lighter upper part ending a short distance above, at, or below the ankle.
So don't just where slippers all day!! Get some pretty shoes on!


Red shoes are a must have in a woman's wardrobe so why not a ours?


Flats, what's not to love about them? Okay, besides the cost of these!
